Dear Self,
You made it to your 33rd birthday. Year 32 wasn't quite what you expected it to be. You went back to work part-time even though you didn't want to. You went through a tough financial patch for about four months. And right after that your mom died.
I guess you could say year 32 sucked. And it did. But weren't there good things that happened too?
Your babies finished their last year of pre-school and started kindergarten. They come home having made good choices and have their slips to prove it. Hey you! You did that, you taught them those things. You chose a better school for them after their school closed last spring. And it's going to pay-off in the end because your family is going to be happy to be a part of that school.
You have friends at their school, friends at work, and friends for life. A lesson that you are never to old to learn is how important friends are. You worked on that last year - keep it up this year!
You are married to a great guy who loves you very much. As you get older, your marriage gets better. If he hasn't divorced you yet he probably is going to stick it out! Give that man a kiss...he married into the Jerry Springer show and somehow sticks it out after each and every drama.
This year figure out what you are going to be when you grow up. It might be time to go back to a real job. But this time, think it through before you take the jump. If you aren't sure then wait and stay at your part-time job.
Most of all, love your life and your family. Count your blessings and remember that each day is a gift. What are you going to do with that gift?

What are you going to do when you grow up?? I love that most people I know are asking that question in their 30s. I seem to remember someone wanting to write a book when they grew up...........
